SIXTEEN COVID CASES REPORTED; J & J VACCINE PAUSED

The Allegany County Health Department has reported 16 more positive COVID-19 cases, and no additional deaths. The county’s positivity rate is 3.24 per cent, while the state rate is 5.69 per cent. Over 20,000 Allegany County residents have received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine, with 13,001 of those individuals now fully vaccinated. Additionally, 2,093 Allegany County residents have received the single-dose J & J vaccine. However, federal health agencies have paused that vaccine amid rare reports of blood clots occurring approximately two weeks of vaccination.
