The Cumberland City Police inadvertently named Melvin Maurice Gherel Tyson as a suspect in a Byrd Avenue residence this past weekend. His actual name is Maurice Gherel Tyson. He had been inside a residence there, wielding a knife, and not allowing the residents to leave the property. He was uncooperative with officers while being arrested, and briefly resisted. He was charged with two counts each of first and second-degree assault, and two counts of false imprisonment. Following a District Court hearing, he was ordered held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
