Allegany County Sheriff Craig Robertson has issued a statement, saying his office has concluded its internal investigation of the use of force utilized by deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office on April 5th. His office has conducted an internal investigation of the incident, and it has been concluded. The statement further stated that, in the interest of transparency and to avoid the appearance of any conflict, he will be referring the matter to the Allegany County State’s Attorney’s Office for review of the internal investigation. There will be no further comment from the Sheriff’s Office until the State’s Attorney’s Office has concluded its investigation.
