LOTTERY LEADER TO RETIRE

The director of the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency is retiring. Gordon Medenica will step down from the job on June 1st. Medenica is responsible for leading the agency through a period of increasing revenues. The 69-year-old lottery boss was appointed to lead the agency by Governor Hogan in 2015. When Medenica retires, Deputy Director James Nielsen will become acting director while Governor Hogan searches for a new director for the lottery agency.
