A traffic stop yesterday on National Highway resulted in the arrest of Columbia, Maryland resident Derick Anderson on numerous drug charges. His vehicle was searched after Allegany County Sheriff’s deputies observed several factors consistent with criminal activity. A vehicle search was conducted, and officers recovered a large amount of suspected heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine. The drugs were packaged, consistent with the sale and distribution of controlled dangerous substances. Anderson was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, and was to have received an initial appearance in District Court.
