ADMINISTRATOR ASKS CITY EMPLOYEES TO BE POLITE

Starting next month, Baltimore city employees are being asked to be a bit more polite when dealing with residents. City Administrator Christopher Shorter has issued a memo to all municipal employees to be more responsive, courteous, civil, respectful, and customer-friendly starting May 3rd. In his email, Shorter encouraged all city workers to communicate the highest standards of professionalism and embody a customer-centric ethic. The memo offered guidelines for proper telephone etiquette, voicemail greetings and email correspondences among other items.
