STATE JOBLESS CLAIMS AT YEARLY LOW

Fewer Marylanders filed first-time unemployment claims last week.  The state’s labor department reports just over 95-hundred initial jobless claims were filed for the week ending April 17th.  That’s down from the slightly more than ten-thousand-300 claims from the previous week.  It’s also the lowest number of new claims for any week so far this year.  About 28-hundred of the latest claims are pandemic-related.
