NINE NEW COVID-19 CASES, ZERO DEATHS REPORTED

Allegany County experienced nine new COVID-19 cases, as of Sunday; there are no additional deaths. The local positivity rate is 3.25 per cent, while the state reports 4.51 per cent. It was also announced that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration have lifted the pause on the use of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. Healthcare providers may now resume the use of the J & J vaccine for adults, 18 years and older. As of Sunday, 16,485 residents are now fully vaccinated.
