Maryland will retain its eight congressional seats based on census data released on Monday. The Census Bureau says Maryland’s population grew by seven percent in the last ten years, to about six-point-two-million people. Maryland is now the 18th most populous state in the nation, which is up one spot from 2010. The data also shows Maryland is the 22nd fastest growing state by population.
