THIRTEEN CHARGED IN PRISON SMUGGLING SCHEME

Thirteen people have been indicted in a scheme to smuggle the opioid addiction treatment drug Suboxone into a prison. Those indicted include a dietary sergeant at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women in Anne Arundel County. Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh says those indicted conspired to smuggle the drugs into the Jessup facility using a number of methods including throwing an orange into the compound.  Dietary Sgt. Linda Lomax allegedly tried to smuggle hundreds of Suboxone strips on her person and walk through the front entrance of the prison.
