LaVale resident Jessica Pudlin faces numerous traffic charges, and counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, following a crash in the 15,000-block of McMullen Highway on Saturday. Ms. Pudlin had been traveling southbound in the northbound lane, striking a northbound vehicle. Three people were taken to the hospital for treatment, while a passenger in one of the vehicles, 86-year-old Mary Lanore Taylor, had to be extricated. She was later flown to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she remains in critical condition. Ms. Pudlin was charged and released pending trial. The crash remains under investigation by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department.
