DELEGATION ANNOUNCES SCHOOL MEAL FUNDING

The state’s congressional delegation has announced an additional 727-million dollars for Maryland to extend its school meals program through June.  The federal funding will help families purchase food while schools are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  It’s expected to benefit more than 530-thousand students who have temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price meals at school.  The lawmakers say they will continue to secure federal resources to tackle food insecurity and ensure that no child goes hungry.
