GOVERNOR, MAYOR EXCHANGE WORDS ON BALTIMORE CRIME

Governor Larry Hogan and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott are exchanging words about violent crime in the city.  The governor said yesterday that the increase of violent crime in Baltimore City is unacceptable, and rather than defunding police, more needs to be invested in law enforcement, better laws must be passed to hold violent criminals accountable, and prosecutors need to actually prosecute crimes. In response, the mayor said on Twitter that rather than relying solely on status quo solutions and hashtag-MAGA talking points, the governor should meet with him to discuss violent crime, gun trafficking or restarting the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.
