CHIEF JUDGE BANS “THIN BLUE LINE” APPAREL

The chief judge of the Maryland District Courts is telling staff to stop wearing “thin blue line” masks and other clothing showing support for law enforcement.  Chief Judge John Morrissey said in an email that the court has been made aware of an issue of “perceived bias” by employees wearing the thin blue line apparel.  The ban applies to all court workers, but not members of the public.  Morrissey issued the order after a complaint from the Maryland Office of the Public Defender.
