An Australia-based biotech diagnostic company is announcing plans for its first U.S.-based manufacturing operation. Governor Larry Hogan said today that Ellume plans to bring more than 1500 jobs by the end of next year with a facility in Frederick County. This is part of the company’s efforts to boost production of its at-home coronavirus test. Ellume’s U.S. president says the county is the “ideal location” for the company to work with the federal government to get the tests out nationwide.
