MARYLAND RECORDS 212 NEW COVID CASES

Maryland has recorded 212 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the number of confirmed cases to more than 456-thousand since the start of the pandemic. There have been 14 additional fatalities related to the virus for a death toll of more than 87-hundred. The Maryland Department of Health says there are 596 patients in the hospital, and 165 of them are in intensive care. The seven-day positivity rate is two-point-23-percent, the lowest level since the start of the pandemic.  To date, the state has administered more than five-point-six-million doses of the coronavirus vaccine, and nearly two-point-six-million residents are fully vaccinated.
