GOVERNOR SIGNS SCHOOL SAFETY MEASURE

Governor Larry Hogan has signed into law a measure banning registered sex offenders from public school grounds.  Maryland is now the first state in the country to have such a ban on the books.  The law bans registered sex offenders from registering to take classes, working at a school or any other reason to be on a school campus. Those caught in violation face fines up to five thousand dollars and up to five years behind bars.
