TANIOS APPEALING DECISION TO KEEP HIM IN JAIL

George Tanios, the Morgantown sandwich shop operator accused in the pepper-spraying of U.S. Capitol Police on January 6th is appealing a judge’s decision to keep him in jail. The appeal was filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia on Wednesday. District Judge Thomas Hogan denied bond earlier this month for both Tanios and his co-defendant, Julian Khater. Judge Hogan noted that, quote, “the defendants would pose a danger to the community if released,” end quote.
