BILL WOULD REQUIRE TAX DOLLARS SPENT TO BE POSTED

A new bill is being introduced that would require Pennsylvania lawmakers to post online where taxpayer-funded expenses are spent.  The details of how tax money is spent is mostly kept hidden, but some lawmakers hope to change that. The bill follows an investigation by state newspapers into how the state legislature spent tens of millions of dollars on food, lodging, travel, and other perks for lawmakers and their staffers.  The hope is that there will be a public site for both the Senate and the House to share where the money spent by state congress goes.
