Nineteen suspects were arrested or detained in Washington County in an operation targeting sex trafficking suspects, along with child sex predators and individuals supporting sex work in general. Twelve of those suspects face charges, ranging from sexual solicitation of a minor to prostitution and possession of drugs with intent to distribute. According to social media reports, one of the alleged offenders is Hagerstown lawyer Ira C. Cooke, also known as Charles Ira Cooke. He had been legal counsel for several prominent local officials in Washington County, including Washington County School Board member Michael Guessford and former Washington County School Board member Karen Harshman.
