It appears as if biotech company Novavax is not going anywhere anytime soon. Company leaders have announced plans to remain in Gaithersburg and expand its current footprint in the area. The company’s decision comes as Novavax awaits positive results concerning its COVID-19 vaccine. The biotech firm was created nearly 25 years ago and has gone through some growing pains recently but officials said the time was right to announce its future plans. An expanded Montgomery County campus will house vaccine research development, manufacturing, and business operations. Novavax is expecting the results of phase three trials of its COVID vaccine sometime next week.
