COUNTY TO RECEIVE $1 MILLION IN PROGRAM OPEN SPACE FUNDING

Allegany County will receive nearly a million dollars, as its share of Program Open Space Funding for fiscal year 2022. Officials are looking at more than 20 projects as potential recipients for funding awards. Recommended for school projects include $188,000 for the baseball field at Allegany College of Maryland and money for the college fitness center. Other community projects include money for the Cresaptown tennis and pickleball courts, the Piney Plains ball field and for the Mason Road Sporting Complex. In addition, the Greenway Avenue Stadium is scheduled to receive new visitor bleacher seating and a new running track.
