POLICE FACING CRITICISM OVER BOARDWALK ARREST OF BLACK MAN

Ocean City police in Maryland are under increasing scrutiny following the release of a social media video showing the violent arrest of a young Black man on the boardwalk Saturday.  The video shows an officer repeatedly kneeling on the man after he is wrestled to the ground.  Police say the man was part of a group that was vaping outside of a designated area of the boardwalk.  The ACLU, NAACP and several Maryland lawmakers are calling for a full investigation of the incident.  Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh says he is “deeply concerned” about the incident.  Frosh added he has contacted law enforcement agencies about the video, in addition to another one showing a teenager holding up his hands as he is shot with a Taser on the boardwalk.
