MARYLAND TO END STATE OF EMERGENCY ON JULY 1st

The state of Maryland will end its COVID-19 state of emergency on July 1st. While the announcement means that masks will no longer be required anywhere in the state, businesses and schools can still set their own policies.  During a press conference yesterday, Governor Larry Hogan also announced the moratorium on evictions has been extended until August 15th. Ending the state of emergency will not impact the state’s access to federal funds. Hogan noted that while this is not “mission accomplished,” Maryland will transition from a state of emergency to another type of operation.
