FIRST HEAT-RELATED DEATH

The Maryland Department of Health has reported its first heat related death of 2021.  Officials say that the victim is a man from Prince George’s County in his 40s.  Deputy Secretary for Public Health Dr. Jinlene Chan is encouraging Marylanders to check on their friends and loved ones as temperatures continue to rise.  Other tips to cope with the hot weather include drinking a lot of fluids, avoid alcohol, and taking it easy outside.
