NO INJURIES IN SOUTH CUMBERLAND FIRE

There were no injuries, but a home, at 227 East Elder Street, sustained about $10,000 worth of damage in a fire Monday afternoon. The occupant of the home, Charles Hamilton, discovered the fire coming from the siding of the home. The cause was traced to overheated wiring, inside a kitchen wall, and was confined to that area. The Cumberland Fire Department responded, with assistance from the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Company. Others provided mutual aid, and were on standby.
