MARYLAND ADDS 59 NEW COVID CASES, 7 DEATHS

Maryland is reporting 59 new COVID-19 cases after three consecutive days of under 50 cases.  The state also added seven new virus-related deaths, pushing the overall death toll past 95-hundred.  Hospitalizations dropped by 21 to 125, with 37 patients receiving intensive care.  The COVID-19 positivity rate is down to a new record low of point-six-one-percent.  Also, Governor Larry Hogan announced that the state’s coronavirus case rate has dropped below one per 100-thousand residents, putting the state in the federal “green zone.”  Seventy-three percent of Maryland residents have gotten at least one vaccine dose.
