JURY SEATED FOR CAPITAL GAZETTE SHOOTER’S TRIAL

A jury is now set to hear phase two of the Capital Gazette shooting trial in Maryland.  The panel of eight men and four women will determine if Jarrod Ramos is criminally responsible for killing five employees at the Annapolis newspaper three years ago.  The 41-year-old Ramos has already pleaded guilty to the shooting, but jurors will now decide if he was sane at the time of the killings.  At stake is whether Ramos will spend the rest of his life in prison or a state psychiatric hospital.  Opening statements are set to begin tomorrow.
