EXPECT INCREASED POLICE PRESENCE ON MARYLAND ROADS

The Maryland State Police SPIDRE  Team will be out in full force this Fourth of July holiday weekend, watching for impaired drivers. The Maryland Department of Transportation and law enforcement officials across the state are reminding drivers to stay safe this holiday weekend by designating a sober ride home. The Fourth of July holiday is one of the deadliest weekends of the year on Maryland roads, but officials say it doesn’t have to be. Police say buckle up, slow down, put the phone away, look out for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists and always drive sober. Drivers are also reminded to be patient and leave extra travel time with traffic levels expected to reach pre-pandemic levels.
