COX ANNOUNCES RUN FOR GOVERNOR

Dan Cox, who is serving his first term as a state delegate representing Frederick and Carroll counties, has announced his intention to run for governor next year. Cox, who has been termed a “pro-Trump” candidate, unsuccessfully sued Governor Larry Hogan over his stay-at-home order at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. For his part, Governor Hogan called Cox a “Qanon conspiracy theorist.” There are now three Republican candidates for the state’s top office, and nine Democrats who have announced their candidacies.
