A Cumberland man, who had seemingly been helping a woman with a deposit into an ATM machine on East Oldtown Road, was instead arrested for stealing some of the money. Derek Michael Lee had helped a woman with a bank deposit, but the deposit slip showed nothing had actually been deposited. The victim was able to recover a large sum of the money, but not the full amount. She did get the vehicle registration and a description, and positively identified Lee when he was stopped in the area of West First Street and Grand Avenue. Lee received a District Court hearing, and was released on an unsecured $2500 bond, pending trial.
