A Baltimore County company is responsible for the demolition of the remainder of the Champlain Tower South in Surfside, Florida. Industry leaders say Controlled Demolition, based in Phoenix, is one of the few companies in the entire country that can handle demolitions of buildings in such a manner. The company was called in by another contractor to demolish the remaining portion of the collapsed tower so search and rescue teams could continue sifting through the debris left behind from the collapse.
