COURT UPHOLDS ORDER TO CONTINUE JOBLESS BENEFITS

The Maryland Court of Appeals has upheld a lower court’s emergency order, keeping the state enrolled in enhanced federal unemployment programs. At this point, unemployed residents will continue to receive federal unemployment benefits, including the supplemental $300 weekly payments through at least July 13th. The Hogan Administration had planned to cut off the benefits this past weekend, ahead of their expiration in September. Other states with Republican governors have taken similar steps.
