FOUR COVID CASES, NO ADDITIONAL DEATHS REPORTED

As of July 8th, there were four new COVID-19 cases reported in the county, and no additional deaths. The state has reported that of 130 people statewide who died of COVID-19 in June, every one was unvaccinated against the disease. And, unvaccinated persons made up 95 per cent of new COVID cases in the state. The positivity rate in Allegany County is at .83 per cent, while the state reports .82 per cent. Tomorrow, from 1 to 4 and Wednesday from 9 to noon, there will be a vaccination clinic at the Health Department. Also on Wednesday, there will be a clinic held at the Potomac Fire Company from 9 to noon. Second doses of the Moderna vaccine will be given in Westernport, and the J & J COVID vaccine will also be available for those 18 and older.
