HIGH SCHOOL GRAD RAISES MONEY FOR CANCER

A high school graduate in Maryland is raising money for cancer research by playing video games.  Theo Lazarou has held two 24-hour virtual gaming marathons in which viewers donate to support Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.  The streams involve “speedrunning,” which is when a gamer tries to break records by completing games as fast as possible.  Lazarou has so far raised two-thousand-dollars for cancer research.  The streamer plans to host another speedrunning fundraiser this winter while he attends the University of Maryland as a freshman.
