Somerset County District Attorney Jeffrey Thomas is in custody for rape and other related charges. State Police say Thomas is accused of entering a woman’s home on Saturday in Windber Borough without her permission. They added that he allegedly refused to leave then sexually and physically assaulted the woman. He is facing charges of rape, indecent assault, strangulation, simple assault, and criminal trespassing. Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says the news is disturbing as Thomas is entrusted to uphold the law and serve as a voice for victims. He added that this is a reminder that no one is above the law.
