CUMBERLAND MAN HELD WITHOUT BOND

Cumberland resident Defone Maurice Davis is being held without bond, following an incident at a Frederick Street convenience store Saturday. Davis, armed with a knife, assaulted a person in the store; the victim fled the scene. Davis demanded to use another person’s cellphone. They refused, and he allegedly assaulted them as well. Police detained and arrested him in the store, and he was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, armed robbery, reckless endangerment and destruction of property, among other counts. He received a District Court hearing, where he was ordered held without bond.
