Parkville, Maryland resident John R. Zajac and Courtney Purnell were arrested on Interstate 68 Westbound, following a traffic stop, early yesterday morning. A probable cause search yielded a large quantity of methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl, along with a 9-mm handgun and an assault rifle-style shotgun. Packing material and paraphernalia were also recovered. Zajac faces the bulk of those charges, while Ms. Purnell was charged with CDS possession-not marijuana. Both were taken to the Allegany County Detention Center, prior to a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.
