As the current heat wave continues, Baltimore has reached another grim milestone. The city recorded more than 200 homicides for the year over the weekend. The milestone occurred followed a weekend of deadly violence on the streets of Baltimore where at least a dozen people were shot and killed. The death of a 52-year-old man caused the city to hit the 200 mark. Officials say if the murder rate continues in Baltimore, the city could surpass the 300 mark for homicides for an eighth straight year. Baltimore reportedly has the second-highest murder rate per capita in the country.
