COMMUNITY COVID-19 LEVEL REMAINS HIGH

Allegany County’s COVID-19 community level remains high, according to the Centers for Disease Control, with only 56.4 per cent of residents vaccinated. There were 191 new COVID cases this past week, and zero additional deaths. Maryland’s positivity rate is at 12.97 per cent, while the local rate is at 13. 1 per cent. Appointments to receive the new Novavax vaccine are now available through the local Health Department. Vaccinations are still available at the Health Department on Wednesdays, while testing continues at the Allegany County Fairgrounds on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
