RUTHERFORD BACKS OFF COMMENTS ABOUT GOVERNOR

Maryland Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford is backing off comments he made this week about the possible political aspirations of his boss, Governor Larry Hogan.  Rutherford suggested during a radio interview that Hogan could abandon the Republican party and run for president as an independent in 2024.  Rutherford told Maryland Public Television he was simply offering his opinion, adding he “spoke out of frustration” over the direction of both the Republican and Democratic parties.  The full interview will air Friday on MPT.
