CITY HOMICIDE RATES CONTINUE TO RISE

Baltimore City is on pace to surpass last year’s homicide rate. Officials say if the gun violence continues in the city, Baltimore could finish 2022 with more than three-hundred homicides. Police Department figures show that so far this year, more than 270 people have been killed in gun violence. That number is greater than the number of homicides reported this time last year. Crime statistics also show that non-fatal shootings across Baltimore are up. In September fourteen homicides were recorded. So far October has seen sixteen homicides and officials fear those numbers will continue to rise.
