Eight people were taken to the Garrett Regional Medical Center following a possible carbon monoxide leak in the Aurora School. The incident was termed a “mass casualty incident” due to the number of available resources compared to the number of patients. Garrett County first responders lent assistance. About 25 students were exposed; they were evaluated by medical personnel and released to their parents or taken to the hospital.
