Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze in the 20-block of Fairview Street in Piedmont yesterday afternoon. According to the Cumberland Times-News, units from Mineral, Allegany, and Garrett counties responded to the fire that was reported to the Mineral County 911 Center about 3:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported but two locomotives and 17 empty railcars derailed early Saturday morning near the historic Horseshoe Curve in Altoona.
