MINERAL COUNTY REPORTS FIRST COVID-19 CASE

Mineral County Health Department officials have confirmed its first confirmed case of COVID-19. There is no information on the patient, or whether they are currently hospitalized or self-quarantining at home. It is known the patient is employed in Allegany County. Officials are currently working on tracing any people the patient has come in contact with over the past few weeks. Health Department Administrator A.J. Roote is urging residents to continue to practice CDC-recommended practices of social distancing, washing hands for at least 20 seconds, and staying at home to avoid spreading or contracting the virus.
