“Buck A Cup” Fundraiser

October 24, 2022 through December 17, 2022

The Buck A Cup fundraiser campaign to support the Scottish Rite Care Early Childhood Speech and Language Disorders Clinic a the Children’s League runs through December 17th. Several restaurants are participating, including Arby’s in LaVale, the Chat-N-Chew in McCoole, Roy rogers in Cumberland, Denny’s in LaVale, Joe’s Viaduct and the K-Bar in Cumberland. Hyndman Charter School Christmas Bazaar and Vendor Show

The Hyndman Charter School will hold a Christmas Bazaar and Vendor Show on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crafts, baked goods, and lots of great Christmas gifts! Hogs and Patriots Foundation Fundraiser

The Hogs and Patriots Foundation Maryland Chapter 2 is hosting Rock Hazel, a band for a fundraiser for first responders and their families. The event will be held on Saturday, December 3rd from 7 to 10 p.m. at Shooters Neighborhood Bar and Grill. this is a FREE event with NO COVER charge. Donations will be accepted to support the foundation’s fundraising efforts for the coming year. Hogs and Patriots is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

“Post Turkey Day Dance”

A Relay for Life “Post Turkey Day” Dance will be held at the Salisbury VFW on Saturday, November 26th from 8-11 p.m. Music Express will provide entertainment and karaoke. There will be a goodwill donation at the door, a Chinese auction, and gaming. Shanksville VFD Cash Bash

The Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a cash bash at The Lodge at Indian Lake on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Food and beverages will be served, beginning at 2 p.m. the first of 26 prize drawings will be at 3:30 p.m. You don’t have to be present to win. Local law enforcement agencies and the Allegany County Health Department are teaming up for a prescription drug Take Back day on Monday, November 28th from noon to 3:30 p.m. at PharmaCare on Bedford Road. Turn in your unused or expired prescription medication for safe disposal. (Funding is provided by the Allegany County Health Department Opioid Misuse Prevention Program through the Behavioral Health Administration and SAMHSA.)

“Holding Hands for Haley” Foundation’s “Christmas at the Goat”

The Holding Hands for Haley Foundation will sponsor “Christmas at the Goat” on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be crafts and goods available for purchase, along with a Kids’ Craft Table. Salisbury-Elk Lick “Cram-A-Van” Toy Drive

The Salilsbury-Elk Lick Education Association will hold the annual “Cram-A-Van” Toy Drive on Thursday, December 1st, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys and gift cards for children, newborn through 18 years old. The Bedford Road Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a Santa Breakfast on Saturday, December 3rd, starting at 9 a.m., until 11 a.m. They are asking for a donation of $6 per person and children under 6 are free. The menu consists of pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast, sausage links, milk, orange juice, tea, and coffee. Bring the children to meet Santa!

Re Temple No. 118 Daughters of the Nile will hold a Holiday Tea on Sunday, December 4th at 2 p.m . The event will be held at the Ali Ghan Shrine Club Dining room in Cumberland. There is a donation of $12.50. Join them for an afternoon of delicious holiday tea, savory and sweet tea foods, entertainment and a jingle exchange. there is a $10 to $15 limit for the jingle, if you’d like to participate.
