Spaghetti Dinner- Frostburg Legion

Garrett County Health Fair and Fun Festival Set for April 6th

Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Garrett County Steps to Better Health Committee has announced that the Garrett County Health Fair and Family Fun Festival will be held on Saturday, April 6th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the CARC (Community Aquatic and Recreation Complex) at Garrett College in McHenry. The festival is a free community event, designed to increase health awareness and to promote health-oriented resources for all ages, which are available throughout the local community.

Lenten Fish Dinners at St. Peter’s in Oakland

February 16, 2024 through March 23, 2024

St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Oakland MD is hosting Lenten Fish Dinners every Friday in Lent from February 16th through March 23rd. The dinners are held upstairs in the parish hall at 208 South Fourth Street, Oakland. Dinners are served from 4:30 to 6:30 with takeouts beginning at 4:00. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The meal includes a fried fish sandwich, French fries, two sides (pick from stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, applesauce), a drink, and dessert. You won’t go away hungry. THERE WILL BE NO DINNER ON GOOD FRIDAY.

Shamrock Shuffle in Frostburg

The Irish Spirit is coming to the streets of Frostburg for the 10th annual Shamrock Shuffle, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 9th. The day-long event will include traditional Irish fare, Irish music and a wide variety of Irish food and drinks. There will be a FREE van, running from 2 p.m. to midnight that will transport the patrons to all the participating businesses. 20th Annual Hooley Plunge

Saturday, March 2, 2024, beginning at 1 p.m.

The annual Hooley Plunge-the largest single-day fundraising event in Allegany County-take place on Saturday, March 2nd at Rocky Gap State Park. On-site registration begins at 10 a.m., and the plungers take to the waters at 1 p.m. Plungers and spectators are encourage to arrive early! The Hooley Plunge raises money for local programs supporting the developmentally disabled, including the Special Olympics of Allegany County, Friends Aware, programs based in both public and private schools, Boy Scout Troop #89 and more. Hooley Pub Crawl

Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Get Irish for the day at Downtown Cumberland’s 25th Hooley Pub Crawl, featuring music, sing-alongs, and other popular entertainers from the Tri-State area. A full slate of entertainers will perform throughout the day in downtown Cumberland and South Cumberland locations. There will be plenty of libations and music, so wear your green and head to downtown Cumberland on Saturday, March 16th!

Meyersdale VFD Ham Dinner

The Meyersdale Volunteer fire Department is having a ham dinner on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the meal includes scalloped potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, and a roll with ice cream or a cookie for dessert. First Presbyterian Sets Palm Sunday, Easter Services

First Presbyterian Church has set its Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday Church Services. On Palm Sunday, services begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Alison Peters leading worship; her sermon will be entitled, “Time.” On Easter Sunday, a Sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. at the Mountain View pavilion. And, the Easter morning service will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Peters’ sermon will be entitled, “Feast.”
