West Virginia Governor Jim Justice says the West Virginia National Guard began testing employees of the Pilgrim’s Pride chicken processing plant in Moorefield for COVID-19 yesterday. The plant, which employs about 1,000 people was designated as a site that requires screening and testing of all plant workers. The Guard will be assisting in a medical support role, to help test the employees. The number of cases in Hardy County increased to 15, with some unconfirmed reports of cases in the facility. West Virginia is still in a “Safer at Home” plan, with the Governor recommending everyone wear face coverings in public, especially if you cannot social distance six feet away from others. Gatherings of over 25 people are prohibited, and you’re reminded to wash hands or sanitize frequently.
