DEATH RULED HOMICIDE

The death of Swanton resident Stephen Savage has been ruled a homicide. Savage got into a fight with another man on his property last Thursday, with Savage sustaining blunt force injuries. He was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown for treatment, but died Saturday night. The cause of his death was sepsis, which is a blood infection-a result of the assault. Because his death occurred in Cambria County, the medical examiner’s office there was responsible for determining the cause and manner of death. It will now be up to prosecutors to decide if criminal charges are warranted.
