BOARD APPROVES OCTOBER 7TH RETURN TO FALL SPORTS

The Allegany County Board of Education has approved the October 7th option to begin fall athletics for the 2020-2021 school year. Member Dr. David Bohn made the motion, contingent on there being a sufficient number of participating schools to build a seven-week schedule, and contingent on further changes handed down from the state. Should there be fall sports, there will be restrictions on the number of those allowed in the stands. The board also stressed the need to give students some sense of normalcy during this unprecedented time, but reiterated they were not placing the importance of extracurricular activities over that of academics.
