Maryland’s projected revenues improved by $1.4 billion in the current fiscal year, thanks to help from the federal government; state officials, however, are warning of continued financial uncertainty amid the pandemic and the government’s response to it. Projections were raised to $18.7 billion for the current fiscal year, which began in July. Projections for the next fiscal year would be $2.1 billion higher than previously thought; however, conditions could change if the virus has a resurgence this fall.
